Max Amount In Bank Account

One of the e-Banking report filter option:

From Amount :0.00
To Amount: 9,999,999,999,999.99

I guess people who reach the Max "To Amount" will be very few, for personal banking.

The Hidden Dangers of Inflation

... Worse yet, I have discovered something troubling about the way I handle inflation. I am failing to save and invest as much as I did just a year ago. After all, I have to heat my house, feed my family and drive my car. So in the crunch of daily life, I am not doing enough to protect my financial future.

Like a lot of my friends, I find myself thinking, “Well, I’ll just cut back, tighten my belt a notch, spend less on unnecessary items, and get through this period.” That might keep me a step or two ahead of my monthly cash flow.

But meanwhile, dollars are disappearing like sand through my fingers - dollars that I should be investing.

That is not wise.

My friends, unless we find a way to catch some of those dollars and hold onto them, inflation has the potential to do great financial damage to us. We could all retire with a lot less accumulated wealth than we had planned for.

I don’t have all the solutions to this problem. None of us does. Yet I do know one strategy that can really help.

Very wealthy people use this approach it to keep their wealth growing, even in the current inflationary climate, and this strategy can work for you too:

Put your money in income-producing, not static, investments.

Instead of simply putting all your investment money into your 40l(k) (~KWSP), IRA, or other vehicles that earn income that you can’t access for years, put your money into investments that offer both cash income and long-term appreciation.

I am talking about buying a business, investing in foreclosed properties and engaging in other forms of active investing that provide both long-term growth and immediate cash income.

In Fear Lies Opportunity

I often tell people that I listen to everyone, but the decision will ultimately be mine. That's a good way to be in life and in business. Listen to others, but never negate your own instincts. If I'd listened to everyone, The Apprentice would have never happened. It continues to be a tremendous experience for me and for everyone involved. Not bad for a big mistake! However, when you do take risks, since they won't always work out, you better make sure the upside is big.

Go To Seminars or School ?

I would rather spend $5,000 and three days to learn how to make millions and possibly billions rather than spend four years and $85,000 to learn how to work for $55,000 or a little more a year for the rest of my life. On top of that, that $55,000 is "earned income".

A college degree does not entitle you to stop learning or to stop increasing your leverage. Neither does a million dollars in the bank entitle you to stop learning. In fact, if you stop learning, your money will soon go to someone who has continued to keep learning. Your money will go to the person who realizes that true leverage is the ability to constantly do more and more with less and less.

You go to school if you want to be a better employee or better professional person such as a doctor, lawyer, or accountant. If you don't care about degrees, promotions, or job security, then you go to seminars. Seminars are for people who want better financial results than a job promotion or increased job security.

The Parable of Talents

Jesus often told a story to teach a lesson. Hear the story of the talents.

One day a man was going on a long trip. He needed his servants to take care of his property while he was gone, so he called them to him.

To the first servant he gave five talents of money. (A talent was not a coin, but a weight of a precious metal such as silver, and one talent was worth more than $1,000. So this servant received money worth more than $5,000.)

This man went to work at once using his money until he had doubled it. He now had ten talents instead of five.

The master gave the second man two talents.

He probably thought the man was capable of managing that amount of money. The second man was successful also, and doubled his money. He began with more than $2,000 and now he had twice as much.

The third man was not as capable as the other two, but the master gave him one talent with the expectation that he would manage it well.

He, too, could have increased his money, but he dug a hole and hid it in the ground. After a long time the master returned.

(Some think the master's trip is a picture of Jesus returning to heaven, and the return from the trip is the judgment of mankind.)

He was ready for a report from the servants.

The man who had received five talents brought his money and showed the master that he had doubled it. He was happy to show his master the results. The master was well pleased. He said, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!"

The man that had been given two talents showed the master that he had also doubled his money. He received the same words of praise as the first man who had received five talents.

The man who had received one talent dug up the talent he had buried and brought it to the master. He accused the master of being a hard man to work for, said he had been afraid, so he just buried his talent. He gave it back to the master saying, "See, here is what belongs to you."

The master was very angry with him and called him a wicked, lazy servant. He said the man should at least have put the money with bankers and received some interest. (Now the Jews could not charge nor receive interest from a fellow Jew, but they could get interest from a person who was not a Jew.)

The master took his one talent away from him and gave it to the man who had ten talents, and the one talent man was punished because he had not properly used the talent he had been given.

What can we learn from this story?

We need to use whatever "talent" God has given us. It might be money or ability. If we use it wisely, He will increase it so that our lives will glorify Him.

What does this story mean to me?

This parable of Jesus teaches you to use the talent that God has given you. And you do have some things that you can do really well.

Make a list of the things you do well. Use those talents for God. You may discover that He has given you a new talent; one that you didn't even suspect that you had. Then find a way to use that talent for Him!

Memory Verse

For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

Matthew 25:29 (NIV)

Exit Strategy - Begin With The End In Mind

What is the goal of our Exit Strategy?

Level 5 - Ultra-rich - $1 million or more a month
Level 4 - Rich - $1 million or more per year
Level 3 -Affluent - $100,000 to $1 million per year
Level 2 -Middle Class - $25,000 to $100,000 per year
Level 1- Poor- $25,000 or less per year
* $ in USD

For Robert, he took 9 years to move from 0-> level 3 (Affluent), 5 years from level 3->level 4(Rich), and 3 years from level 4->level 5 (Ultra-Rich). From the book “Retire Young Retire Rich”:

Once we decided on our goal, in 1985, we worked backward and developed our exit strategy, our investment plan, and then and only then did we determine our entry strategy. Once we had our exit strategy we knew what to do and where to begin.

We created our plan in 1985 and exited in 1994. In 1985, we chose a plan that would get us to the affluent level quickly as well as give us the required education and experience that qualified us to move on to the rich and ultra-rich level.

Because our investments brought us more than $100,000 in passive income per year, we were able to move on to the rich level simply because we had time, money and the basic qualifications to move on to the next levels. We went from the affluent level to the rich level in five years.Next stop is the ultra-rich level of residual income. If things go as planned, that should take three years.

It was to build businesses and invest in real estate… we made mistakes, corrected and learned….we started out slowly but we gained education, experience, and friends of the same mind-set.

The good thing is that we are working less and less, while earning more and more. Things are going according to plan.

The Golden Rule

The person who has the gold makes the rules.
Today, the rich make the rules, which is why the rich are getting richer.

Voodoo Economics Or The Trickle-Down Effect

One monetary theory encourage tax laws that favor the rich - the idea being, if the rich had more money, they would invest it, thus creating more jobs. Money would trickle down to the poor and middle class. While it sounds good in theory, and while some money does trickle down, the net result is the money stays in the hands of the rich.

Most governments give tax breaks to those in the Business quadrant because they provide jobs. And government offer tax breaks to the Investors quadrant because they invest their money back into the economy.

Special tax breaks are usually given to people who invest in real estate and oil because every country needs housing and energy.

He Got Lucky ?

"He got lucky because he was in the right place at the right time."

I think more accurate statement is:

He got lucky because he was educated, experienced, ready & prepared to take advantage of the opportunity when the opportunity presented itself.

Create Your Own Luck

“Luck is when opportunity meets preparedness.”

I don’t know who made that statement. But whoever said it, I agree.

I've often heard people talking about how so-and-so is so lucky (as if to emphasize that they themselves are not lucky). I think what's really happening is the complainers aren't “working themselves into luck.” If you want to be lucky, prepare for something big.

Developing your talents requires work, and work creates luck. Having this attitude toward success is a great way to set yourself on a rewarding course for your life.

There was a lot of talk for a while about venting your frustrations and anxieties and how it might be healthy to get them off your chest. To a point, yes, but to an exaggerated degree, no. I read an article recently about how complaining, without doing anything about it, is actually detrimental to physical and mental well-being.

Take a year to do nothing

Very few people have the opportunity you have. Not many people are financially able to stop working and do nothing.

Not many people can truly retire in midlife... during your prime earning years. Most people can't afford to stop working, even if they want to... even if they hate their job... they can't stop working.

So don't take this gift lightly.

It is a gift few people will ever be presented with... so take it. Take a year to do nothing.

That time alone with myself, having nothing to do, was priceless.

Very few people have the luxury of at least one year to sit and just think and be with yourself.
The hardest thing for you to do is to do nothing. That's why I recommend you set a goal to wait at least a year before even thinking about starting another business.

Whatever state your life is in at present, take a moment to appreciate it ... because tomorrow it will only be a memory.

Setting a goal to retire early

Setting a goal to retire early was a good idea... so why should I fighting it? It is not like me to fight a good idea.

The biggest challenge you have is to challenge your own self-doubt and your laziness. It is your self-doubt and your laziness that define and limit who you are.

If you want to change what you are you must take on your self-doubt and your laziness. It is your self-doubt and your laziness that keep you small. It is your self-doubt and your laziness that deny the life you want.

There is no one in your way except you and your doubts about you. It is easy to stay the same. It is easy not to change. Most people choose to stay the same all their lives. If you will take on your self-doubt and your laziness, you will find the door to your freedom.

2008-05-02

Let's set a multiyear goal

Let's set a multiyear goal,Let's go for freedom ... freedom from the drudgery of earning a living.

Most people do not thing about retiring until it's too late.. or they plan on retiring when they're sixty-five. I don't want to do that. I want a better plan.

I don't want to spend my life working just to pay bills. I want to live. I want to be rich. I want to travel the world while I am young enough to enjoy it.

I knew why I was going to do it, even though at that moment I did not know how I was going to do it.

If you want something, be passionate. Passion gives energy to your life.

If you want something you do not have, find out why you love what you want and why you hate not having what you want. When you combine those two thoughts, you will find the energy to get off your seat and go get anything you want.

Why in the world would someone say," I can't afford it" or "I can't do it" to something they want?

Why would someone deny themselves the things they want? It makes no logical sense.
